Archie Beaton, Executive Director

Archie Beaton, Executive Director and Founder of the Chlorine Free Products Association (CFPA), is one of the leading authorities on issues dealing with the impacts of chlorine chemistry in many sectors. In 2004, Archie created the Sustainable Manufacturing Initiative (SMI); appointing a panel of experts from across North America to oversee, review, and update CFPA’s Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) and Processed Chlorine Free (PCF) labeling standards. He continues to be a champion for bringing accountability to sustainability and environmental marketing claims around the world.
Today, the TCF and PCF marks are recognized as the toughest standards in the world and are specified in procurement contracts used internationally by government agencies and purchasing professionals.
Archie brings more than 20 years of industry experience as Sales, Marketing and Product Development Manager for various pulp, paper, and packing companies. He has appeared on television, radio, industry panels and roundtable discussions worldwide and is frequently asked for his input as an industry expert by the media. His professional portfolio includes consulting for the United Nations; US Environmental Protection Agency; the White House; US House of Representatives; US Federal Trade Commission; US Department of the Interior; Environment Canada; British Columbia Ministry of Environment; the Governments of Sweden, Cayman Islands, Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico; various State, Provincial, Regional and City Agencies; as well as numerous companies and corporations.
